Devotional posts published in The Standard

Fifty-two reflections on specific Scripture passages were originally published in The Standard, the adult Sunday school take-home paper in the Faith Connections curriculum produced by what is now The Foundry Publishing. Each devotional post grew out of that week's adult Sunday school Scripture passage.

An explanation of Christian devotional practices

Among Christ-followers, "devotions" are specific practices undertaken by individuals or groups to deepen their relationship with God. These practices include prayer, meditation, reading Scripture, worship, and reflection. Devotions can be personal, such as a daily prayer time or reading from the Bible, or they can be communal, such as participating in a prayer group. The goal of devotional time is to develop a closer relationship with God and grow in faith. Devotional practices vary among Christian denominations and traditions.
